We (The ADOPT) are a group of people exploring structure. We use computations all the time. We are keen to design new structures with adaptive design optimization and to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) in our design.
We are also committed to empowering engineering students by equipping the knowledge and skills to transform themself into solution-driven leaders.
We intend to encompass all aspects of numerical analysis and design optimization with AI. We observe the physical behaviours of structures against both design and extreme loads, determine the ultimate capacity of structures with various materials, find the best possible form and force flow of structures, design novel structural materials and systems, develop state-of-the-art techniques for structural analysis and design optimization, and provide standard technology through adaptive research.
Our research closely relates to the fundamentals of finite element technologies, including isogeometric concepts. Our works are deeply involved in developing design optimization techniques (DOT) for the size, shape, and topology of structures. For many years, our own DOT has been intensively utilized in digital environments and applied to design materials and systems for structures. Recently, the utilization of AI is also a primary concern in our recent research.
